David Babcock (*1956, Buffalo, New York, USA). Studierte an der Michigan Universität bei Leslie Bassett (Komposition) und bei Benning Dexter (Konzertfach Klavier), an der Cambridge Universität bei Alexander Goehr (Komposition) und an der Musikuniversität Wien bei Francis Burt (Komposition).
Derzeit Professor an der Musikuniversität Wien.
Konzerttätigkeit als Pianist im In- und Ausland
Autor mehreren Artikeln über zeitgenössische Musik.
Sein kompositorische Schaffen umfasst Symphonien, Instrumentalkonzerte, Chorkantaten sowie Kammermusik-, Vokal- und Klavierwerke. Er wurde vielfach international ausgezeichnet.
