Alexandre Ouzounoff est un bassoniste et compositeur français né en 1955 à Paris.

Il crée le Trio d'anches OZI avec Claude Villevieille, hautbois et Lucien Aubert, clarinette, formation avec laquelle il est lauréat en 1978 du concours international de Martigny (Suisse). Avec le Trio, il parcourt le monde pour des concerts de musique de chambre et multiplie les enregistrements : Poulenc ; Villa Lobos ; Ozi ; Caplet ; Magnard.

Musicien aux multiples facettes Alexandre Ouzounoff se passionne également pour la musique contemporaine et c'est sous son impulsion que les plus grands compositeurs contemporains ont écrit pour le basson (plus d'une centaine d'oeuvres lui sont dédiées). Pédagogue de tempérament, il rédige en 1985 un ouvrage sur les nouvelles techniques pour le basson « Actuellement, le basson » paru aux Editions Salabert. C'est à cette époque-là qu'il commence à diriger des groupes d'instrumentistes à vent à La Sorbonne.

A partir de 1987 il se tourne vers les musiques improvisées et travaille successivement avec de grandes personnalités du Jazz et des musiques ethniques (Portal ; Solal ; Hervé ; Jenny-Clark ; Moutin ; Badault ;Femi – Kuti ; musiciens nigérians
et malgaches ; ...).

En 1994 il est l'invité du Festival Lionel Hampton aux USA et en revient avec l'envie de composer à son tour. Il reçoit en 1998 le 1er Prix du concours de composition St Jacques de Compostelle pour son oeuvre «Ultreïa» pour orchestre d'Harmonie.

Outre ses activités de concertiste et de compositeur, Alexandre Ouzounoff poursuit des recherches musicologiques sur les oeuvres pour instruments à vent de la fin du XVIIIème siècle, et enseigne le Basson au Conservatoire National de Région de Versailles.

 

 

Alexandre Ouzounoff, French bassoonist and composer was born in Paris in 1955.

He founded the Trio of Reed Instruments, OZI, with Claude Villevieille (oboe) and Lucien Aubert (clarinet). This ensemble earned him the International Contest of Martigny (Swiss) Prize in 1978. Travelling throughout the world as part of the Trio, Ouzounoff performs chamber music concerts and compiles a multitude of recordings: Poulenc, Villa Lobos, Ozi, Caplet, Magnard.

A multi-faceted musician, Alexandre Ouzounoff is also passionate about contemporary music and he is attributed with more than one hundred of the greatest contemporary compositions for the bassoon. Pedagogue by nature and temperament, in 1985 Ouzounoff wrote the instructive article on new techniques for the basson, « Actuellement, le basson » (Today's Bassoon) published by Salabert Editions.

During this time he also becomes Group Director of wind instrumentalists at the Sorbonne.

Starting in 1987 Ouzounoff turns to improvisational music and works successively with some of the great personalities of Jazz and ethnic music (Portal, Solal, Herve, Jenny Clark, Moutin, Badault; Femi- Kuti; musicians Nigerians and Madagascans; ...).

Invited in 1994 as a guest of the Festival Lionel Hampton in the USA, he returns to the desire for composing. In 1998 he receives 1st Prize in the composition contest of St Jacques de Compostelle for his work entitled "Ultre+»a" for Harmony orchestra.

In addition to his activities as a concert performer and composer, Alexandre Ouzounoff conducts musicological research on late 18th century compositions for wind instruments, and is Bassoon instructor at the Regional Academy of Versailles.


Der französische Fagottistund Komponist Alexandre Ouzounoff wurde 1955 in Paris geboren.

Mit dem Oboisten Claude Villevieille und dem Klarinettisten Lucien Aubert gründet er das Trio d'anches OZI, Preisträger des internationalen Musikwettbewerbes von Martigny (Schweiz).

Mit dem Trio OZI unternimmt er weltweite Tourneen und spielt mehrere Schallplatten mit Werken von Poulenc, Villa-Lobos, Ozi, Caplet und Magnard ein.

Der vielseitige Musiker Alexandre Ouzounoff setzt sich ebenfalls sehrfür die Musik unserer Zeit ein. Mehr als einhundert Werke für Fagott sind auf seine Initiative hin von den bekanntesten heutigen Komponisten geschrieben und ihm gewidmet worden.

Aus seiner großen Erfahrung als Pädagoge heraus veröffentlicht er 1985 bei Salabert sein Werk "Actuellement,le basson": ein Buch über Neue Spieltechniken auf dem Fagott französischen Systems.

Zur gleichen Zeit übernimmt er die Leitung von Kammermusikensembles an der Sorbonne.

Seit 1987 beschäftigt sich Alexandre Ouzounoff mit improvisierter Musik und tritt die darauffolgenden Jahre mit führenden Vertretern des Jazz und der Weltmusik auf (Portal, Solal, Hervé, Jenny-Clark, Moutin, Badault, Femi-Kuiti sowie Musikern aus Nigeria und Madagaskar).

1994 folgt er einer Einladung zum Lionel Hampton Festival in die USA und beschließt, von diesem Festival animiert, sich der Komposition zu widmen.

1998 erhält er den 1. Preis für sein Werk "Ultreia" (für Blasorchester) beim Kompositionswettbewerb St. Jacques de Compostelle.

Neben seinem Wirken als Musiker und Komponist arbeitet Alexandre Ouzounoff auch als Musikwissenschaftler.

Sein Aufgabenfeld bildet hierbei die Musik für Blasinstrumente des ausgehenden 18. Jahrhunderts.

Alexandre Ouzounoff ist Professor für Fagott am Conservatoire National de Région de Versailles.
